Semblanza de dos juristas romanos, Papiniano y Ulpiano, gloria y caída de dos hombres honestos en tiempos de crisis
Resumen
En este artículo estudiaremos sucesivamente la vida de dos de los más grandes jurisconsultos romanos, Papiniano y Ulpiano. Luego de una descripción común introductoria, que destaca los múltiples puntos en común que tuvieron en sus vidas, más allá de haber sido maestro y discípulo, describiremos su vida, el entorno histórico preciso en el que se desarrolló su acción pública y jurídica, el denominado Principado, que llegaba a su crisis y final, durante los años de gobierno de la dinastía imperial de los Severos, las principales obras de ambos, con referencia particular a la más importante de cada una de ellas, y la explicación de un texto jurídico propio de cada uno.
Abstract
The article successively studies the life of two of the greatest Roman jurists, Papinian and Ulpian. After a common introductory description, which highlights the multiple points in common that they had in their lives, beyond having been a teacher and a disciple, their life is successively described, the precise historical environment in which their public and legal action was developed, the so-called Principatus, which reached its crisis and end, during the years of government of the imperial dynasty of the Severians, the main works of both, with particular reference to the most important of each of them, and the explanation of a legal text of each one.
